The name is derived from Au Hasard, a track by Belgian experimental band Dans Dans. It means ‘random’; hard to pinpoint, chaotic at first sight and fascinating in its obscurity. Just like Oh Hazar, a band soaked up with influences from music, cinema and art. From German expressionism and the White Stripes till film noir and St. Vincent. Outspoken on one hand, completely abstract on the other. Alienating, confusing and puzzling. Exactly that is what Oh Hazar causes.On stage, Oh Hazar is a force to be reckoned with. A band that inspires and consoles its audience with electrifying music that sticks. The members, all from Nijmegen in The Netherlands, have been playing live for years both abroad and domestically in various bands. With Oh Hazar, they tease the audience with a show full of subtle humour and uneasy questions. Full of tension, never boring, played with the heart and the head.
